- Subscribe or Download Trial: Visit the official Autodesk website. While a perpetual license no longer exists (subscription only), a 30-day free trial is available.
- Use the Browser Download: Autodesk now offers "Browser Download" (small executable that fetches files) or "Full Download." Choose "Full Download" if you have a slow connection.
- Installation: Run the
Setup.exe. You can choose a "Deploy" option (for IT admins) or "Install on this Computer." - Activation: Open AutoCAD 2021. You will be prompted to sign in with your Autodesk account. The software verifies your subscription online. (Note: Offline activation requires a request code; this is rare for most users).
- First Launch: The "Initialize" screen may take 2–3 minutes as it builds the font cache and material library.
