The Setup

  1. Choose base formation (4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1).
  2. Assign defensive midfielder and box-to-box link midfielder.
  3. Set wide players to stay wide and cross from byline; fullbacks to support selectively.
  4. Set striker as Advanced Forward/Poacher; support striker as Shadow Striker or Attacking Midfielder in the hole.
  5. Team instructions: Positive mentality, higher tempo, mixed/short passing, fairly wide attacking width, higher pressing.
  6. Train stamina and crossing; rotate squad to maintain pressing levels.
  7. Adjust instructions vs stronger/defensive opponents: switch to Balanced mentality, pull fullbacks back, increase short passing and patient buildup.
