Guide Overview

Confesiones de un gánster de Barcelona is an award-winning autobiographical novel written by Lluc Oliveras, based on the real-life criminal exploits of Daniel Rojo (known as "Dani el Rojo" or "El Millonario").

A recurring theme is the cat-and-mouse game with the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police). The book attempts to humanize the gangster while often depicting the police as another rival gang, albeit one with badges. This antagonistic relationship drives much of the tension in the story.

Pacing:

Some reviews from platforms like Lecturalia mention that while the beginning is gripping, the level of interest can dip later on due to the repetitive nature of the criminal acts described.
