Spraying contact cleaner (DeoxIT D5) into the pot's small openings will work . The cleaner removes oxidation but cannot rebuild worn carbon. However, after you install the new pot , I strongly recommend spraying a tiny amount of DeoxIT F5 (Fader Lube) into the new pot before sealing the pod.
