Step-by-Step: Dell Latitude 5430 Memory Upgrade Installation

1. Close the lid and turn the laptop over.
2. Remove the 8 (or 9, depending on model) Phillips-head screws from the bottom cover. Note that some screws may be captive (they will not fall out, only loosen).
3. Use a plastic pry tool to gently separate the bottom cover from the chassis. Start near the hinge or the corners. Work slowly to avoid breaking plastic clips.

Once you are at the desktop:

• Gently push the clips on either side of the memory module to release it from the slot.
• Carefully lift the memory module out of the slot.
