Understanding the File and Its Components

Disconnect your USB or stop the FTP server. In VitaShell, navigate to the folder where you placed the .vpk . Press (O) on the file. Select “Install.” The installation process will take a few minutes. Once complete, VitaShell will ask if you want to delete the VPK to save space. Select “Yes” unless you plan to keep a backup.

  • Fix & repack – Option to rebuild a fixed VPK or extract directly to ux0:app/PCSE00665/.
    1. Check official storefronts (PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Steam) for available ports or re-releases.
    2. Buy official physical media if available for systems that support it.
    3. Look for official compilations or digital retro collections that include METAL SLUG 3.
