The officially supports only up to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean . Upgrading to Android 7.1.2 Nougat requires the use of Custom ROMs , as there is no official firmware from Samsung for this version. 🛠️ Required Custom Software

  1. Install the Samsung USB drivers on your PC and restart.
  2. Boot the GT-P5100 into Download Mode (Power off → hold Volume Down + Power → press Volume Up when warned).
  3. Open Odin3 v3.13.1 as Administrator on your PC.
  4. Connect your tablet via USB. Odin should show Added! and a blue COM port box.
  5. Click the AP (or PDA) button in Odin. Select the twrp_3.1.1-0_espresso3g.tar file.
  6. Important: Uncheck “Auto Reboot” in Odin Options.
  7. Click Start. Odin will flash TWRP in 3 seconds. Wait for “PASS!” in green.
  8. Manually reboot to recovery: Disconnect USB. Press and hold Volume Up + Power until you see TWRP logo.

  • Power off your GT-P5100 completely.
  • Boot into Download Mode: Press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power simultaneously. Press Volume Up to confirm.
  • Open Odin on your PC. Connect the tablet via USB cable. You should see a blue box labeled "Added" with an COM port number.
  • Click the "AP" button in Odin. Navigate to your downloaded twrp_*.img.tar file (Note: If you have a .img file, you must pack it into a .tar using 7-Zip, or download a pre-packed .tar.md5).
  • Disable "Auto Reboot" in Odin (very important – otherwise Samsung will overwrite TWRP on first boot).
  • Click Start. Wait for the "PASS" message.
  • Force reboot into TWRP: Hold Volume Up + Home + Power until the Samsung logo appears, then release Power only.
