What is the Epson Adjustment Program?
- Malware and Viruses: The websites hosting these files are rarely official repositories. They are often ad-ridden file-hosting sites or forums. "Cracked" executables are a primary vector for malware. A user attempting to fix a printer may inadvertently install spyware, ransomware, or trojans on their computer.
- Hardware Damage: The Adjustment Program controls sensitive hardware parameters. It can change voltage settings to the print head, perform powerful cleaning cycles, and reset counters. An incorrect setting in a modified program can permanently burn out the print head or damage the motherboard, turning a temporary software error into a permanent hardware failure.
- Operating System Compatibility: The official version 1.0.6 was designed for older operating systems (like Windows XP or 7). Running it on Windows 10 or 11
