- Brightness: Turn it down to 40% in-game. The original FNaF 1 relied on deep shadows. Too bright ruins the atmosphere.
- Film Grain: Enable it. It adds a VHS horror aesthetic that matches the original game’s “found footage” vibe.
- Anti-Aliasing: Set to medium. Too high makes the animatronics look soft and less creepy.
System Requirements for FNAF Help Wanted and FNAF 1
Unlock Condition: On a fresh save, only the “FNAF 1” and “Parts & Service” levels are unlocked. The others require collecting tapes or beating certain nights. If FNAF 1 is grayed out, play the introductory “Parts & Service” tutorial first. It takes 2 minutes.
Select Night: Once inside the FNAF 1 menu, you can pick Night 1 through Night 5 and the custom night.
- Buy and download Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted from Steam.
- Install the game via your Steam library.
- Launch Help Wanted. From the main menu navigate to the “Main Menu” or “Play” section.
- Look for the minigame list: Help Wanted groups classic entries (FNAF 1, 2, 3, etc.) under a “Classics” or similar category.
- Select “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (the FNAF 1 entry) and choose either the standard screen mode or VR mode (if SteamVR is running and a headset is connected).
- If you want VR, start SteamVR or your VR runtime first, then launch Help Wanted so VR mode is detected.
