Using a Product Key

  1. Open the Start Menu, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.
  2. To install the license key, type the following command and press Enter: 
    slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
    (Replace the Xs with your actual product key).
  3. You should see a pop-up window stating, "Installed product key XXXXX successfully."
  4. To activate the server, type the following command and press Enter: 
    slmgr /ato
