- Cause: Offline licenses do not auto-renew. If you bought a 1-year subscription, the offline file stops working on day 366.
- Fix: You must repeat the entire process every year (or every term) to generate a new offline file with the updated expiry date.
Unlike an online license (which uses a serial number to auto-activate via license.gfi.com ), an offline license file is a cryptographically signed .lic file. It contains: Kerio Control Offline License File
- Find your product (Kerio Control) in the list of licensed items.
- Look for an option called “Generate Offline License” or “Manual Activation”.
- Enter the System ID / Product ID obtained from your firewall.
- The portal will generate a
.licfile for download.
- Prefer online activation when possible to simplify renewals and reduce manual steps.
- If deploying many isolated appliances, request license files in batches and maintain a secure inventory mapping license files to device serials.
- Contact vendor support if you need re-issuance, bulk licensing, or automated offline licensing options.
- License > Upload License File > Select
.lic> Apply. - Upon success, the UI shows a green banner: “License valid until [Date]”.
