5.2 Reinstalling the Device (Windows)

1. Check the current firmware version: Before you start, you need to check the current firmware version on your Pioneer X-SMC3-S. To do this, press the "Setup" button on the remote control, then select "Information" and finally "Version". Note down the current firmware version.
2. Visit the Pioneer website: Go to the Pioneer website and navigate to the support section. Enter your product name, "X-SMC3-S", in the search bar and select your product from the search results.
3. Download the firmware update: Click on the "Software & Drivers" tab and look for the firmware update file. Download the file to your computer.
4. Prepare a USB drive: Insert a blank USB drive into your computer and format it to FAT32.
5. Copy the firmware update file: Copy the firmware update file to the USB drive. Make sure to extract the file from the zip archive if it's provided in that format.
6. Connect the USB drive to your Pioneer X-SMC3-S: Insert the USB drive into the USB port on your Pioneer X-SMC3-S.
7. Update the firmware: Press the "Setup" button on the remote control, then select "System Update" and finally "USB Update". The firmware update process will start automatically.
