SM3271AD MPTool is a specialized "Mass Production" software utility designed for repairing and configuring USB flash drives that use the Silicon Motion (SMI) SM3271AD

1. ChipGenius (Windows): The gold standard. Download it, run as admin, and plug in your USB. It will show:
   • Low-level formatting (LLF) and bad block management.
   • Setting device parameters (vendor ID, product ID, serial number, LED behavior).
   • Enabling/disabling the Dual Density mode.
   • Recovering drives that are not recognized by the OS (e.g., 0 MB capacity).
   • Host OS: Windows is common for vendor MPTools; many tools also support Linux via CLI.
   • Required drivers: USB vendor/serial drivers (CP210x, FTDI, WinUSB), DFU/U-Boot-friendly drivers.
