SolidWorks 2024 Installation Review

Part 1: Pre-Installation Checklist (Do Not Skip!)

• C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\
• C:\ProgramData\SOLIDWORKS\
• C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\SOLIDWORKS\

• Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or later
• Processor: 64-bit Intel or AMD processor (quad-core or higher)
• RAM: 8 GB or more (16 GB or more recommended)
• Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce or Quadro graphics card (2 GB or more video memory)
• Hard Disk Space: 10 GB or more of free disk space
• Display: 1920x1080 or higher resolution display

• Symptom: SolidWorks asks for activation every time you launch.
• Fix: Run SolidWorks as Admin once. Then navigate to C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet and ensure SW_D_004.bak and SW_D_004 are not set to "Read Only."

Internet Connection:

Required for downloading the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager and for product activation.
