Technical Report: VGSTC4000 Driver Compatibility and Installation on Windows 7

  1. Driver Signature Enforcement: Since Windows 7 is strict about security, if the VGSTC4000 driver is older or unsigned, you may need to restart the computer and press F8 during boot to select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement."
  2. Manual Installation via Device Manager:
  3. Uninstall any previous VGSTC drivers via devmgmt.msc → Show hidden devices.
  4. Run driver_store_cleanup.bat (if available from vendor) to remove stale INF files.

They are almost always "driver-fixer" malware or generic installers that will not actually activate the camera. Microsoft Learn Is there any workaround?

Ganymede’s Auroral Patches Reveal Shared Physics with Earth’s Aurorae

This image of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS was captured by the JANUS camera aboard ESA’s Juice spacecraft on November 6, 2025, just seven days after the comet made its closest approach to the Sun. At the time, Juice was about 66 million km (41 million miles) away from the comet. The inset in the image shows the same data, but processed to highlight the coma structure.
