V-Ray 6 Material Library
The represents a major shift in how Chaos manages assets, moving away from the traditional built-in preset library to a cloud-integrated system. The Migration to Chaos Cosmos
- Size & Storage: High-resolution texture sets can consume significant disk space; managing many large maps may be heavy for smaller projects.
- Learning Curve for Advanced Use: While presets work out of the box, mastering layered coatings, SSS, or complex procedural nodes requires V-Ray knowledge.
- Scene Compatibility: Some older or non-standard V-Ray scenes, or scenes using custom UVs, may need adjustment (texture scale/UV tiling) after import.
- Licensing/Distribution: Depending on the source, you may need to check licensing for commercial use or redistribution of textures.
- Consistency Across Versions: Material setups leveraging V-Ray 6-specific features may not be fully backward-compatible with earlier V-Ray releases.
By leveraging the V-Ray 6 material library, artists and designers can create stunning, realistic visualizations with ease, saving time and effort in the process. vray+6+material+library

Some V-Ray 6 library materials use very high-resolution bitmaps (4K or 8K). If your scene loads slowly, go to and set the resolution to "On demand (mipmapped)." This prevents V-Ray from loading 8K images for objects that are 100 pixels wide on screen.
