At its core, x360ce (Xbox 360 Controller Emulator) is a wrapper DLL. You place it in the same folder as a game’s executable file. When the game asks Windows, “Do you have an Xbox 360 controller?” x360ce intercepts that call and says, “Yes, and here it is.” Behind the scenes, it translates your generic controller’s inputs into Xbox 360 signals.
