4.2. Use a Virtual Machine

Introduction

  1. Search for "Create a restore point" → System Restore.
  2. Choose a restore point dated before the errors started.
  3. Follow the wizard. This can bring back missing registry entries or files.
  1. Type regedit in Start → File → Export → Export all.
  2. Use CCleaner (older version from 2015 works best) to scan for missing shared DLLs and unused file extensions.
  3. Review each finding – look for keys containing "xxxvdo2013" and delete them manually.
