Failure to follow this checklist is the #1 cause of bricked F18 terminals.

1. Obtain the older firmware file (e.g., V6.2.1) from your backup or ZKTeco's FTP archive.
2. Follow the USB update process exactly as described in Section 5.
3. If the device rejects the downgrade with "Version Too Low," you must use a hidden engineering menu: Press Menu > #999 > Enter password 123456 → Enable "Force Update" flag, then repeat the process.

1. Open ZKAccess (or ZKBioSecurity).
2. Navigate to Device Management > Maintenance.
3. Select your F18 from the device list.
4. Click Firmware Update.
5. Browse to the downloaded .bin file on your PC.
6. Click Start Update. The software will push the file via TCP/IP.
7. Monitor the progress. The device will reboot automatically.
